„Ich kenne nicht den Baum, von dem diese Blüten stammen – aber dieser Duft!“, schreibt der Dichter Bashö. Das Namenlose liegt vor der Bedeutung und ein Geruch lässt sich nicht in Worte fassen – doch wenn ich der Blüte zu den Wurzeln folge, wächst die Einsicht freundschaftlicher Verbundenheit.
“I do not know the tree from which these blossoms stem—yet this fragrance!” writes the poet Bashö. The nameless precedes meaning and a smell cannot be put into words—but when I follow the blossom to the roots, the insight of friendship grows.
